Before The Drawing
First I cut squares and circles to build art. Then I learned to draw a world of my own.
My first art came before the notebook drawing. In elementary school, I cut squares and circles and arranged those simple pieces until they became a picture.
Then, in fifth grade art class, I began drawing by hand on notebook paper. The shapes taught me how parts could build a whole. Drawing gave that whole a character and a world.
I did not know you could start a business. Nobody told me that a character on notebook paper could become a brand. I just knew that making art made the room quiet in a good way and something inside me finally matched something outside of me.
That drawing is still the seed of everything here. Crave Happy Clothing is what that kid wears. Crave Happy Universe is where that kid lives. Same hand. Same story. One brand.
